Can I sign in with Google or Apple?
Yes. Choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple on any sign-in screen, and you will not need a code from your email.
On the website only.
Yes. Wherever Cut the Cake asks for your email address to sign in, you can choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple instead. Nothing is emailed, so there is no code to wait for.
If you already have an account
Use the Google or Apple account that has the same email address as your Cut the Cake account, or the address your invitation was sent to. You will land on the same account, with your events and invitations.
Continue with Google works for a Gmail address or a Google Workspace address. For a Google account on any other address, such as one at Yahoo or Outlook, Cut the Cake says "Google can't confirm this address for us" and you sign in with your email instead.
If you use Apple's Hide My Email
Apple gives us a private address in place of your own, so we cannot match you to an account or an invitation under your real address. Cut the Cake tells you when this has made a new account. To reach the account you already have, choose Use my email instead and sign in with that address.
Passwords
An account you sign in to with Google or Apple has no Cut the Cake password. You can add one from Account at any time, and still sign in with an emailed link or code.
