Is there a Cut the Cake app?

Yes, for iPhone and iPad, for Android phones and tablets, and for Apple TV. Hosts sign in with the same account as on the website. The invitation link is all guests need.

Yes. There is an app for iPhone and iPad, one for Android phones and tablets, and one for Apple TV. You sign in to the app with the same account as on the website, and everything you host is in both.

Where to get it

The Android app is on Google Play.

The iPhone and iPad app is away from the App Store for a short while. If it is already on your iPhone or iPad, it keeps working; our iPhone page says more. Everything still works on the website meanwhile. The Apple TV app comes from the same App Store listing.

Guests

The invitation link is all guests need. A guest opens it in any browser, answers, and finds everything for the party on their own page there. A guest who has the app can open their invitations in it too, and a link to the party opens in the app when it is on their phone.

What the app does

The app does what the website does for a host: the Design room, every Manage tab, publishing, sending invitations and messages, and the guests' own pages. A few things are the app's alone, because they need a phone:

  • Notifications when a guest asks a question, answers come in, or an event needs you.
  • Picking a household from your phone's contacts when you add guests.
  • The iPad as the projector, shown on a television through the iPad.

The photo booth runs in both, on a phone or iPad with the app or in a browser on a laptop with a webcam, and printing nametags works in both.

What stays on the website

  • Importing a guest list from a spreadsheet, and downloading or printing the guest list.
  • Making and renaming a venue's tags. The app puts tags on households and takes them off.
  • Reordering the photos in an album.
  • Connecting Commerce7.
  • Changing what an assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude may do. The app lists your assistants and removes them.
  • Managing a plan bought on the website. A plan bought in the app is managed in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions: see How do I manage or cancel my plan?

Apple TV

The Apple TV app shows the party on a television, as the Projector does: the party's name, the wifi code and tonight's photos. Nobody signs in on the TV. See Can I put my party on an Apple TV?
