My sign-in code has not arrived. What should I do?

Check the email address and spam folder, then request a fresh sign-in email if needed.

  1. Check that you entered the right email address. For an invitation, use the address your host invited.
  2. Look in spam, junk and any filtered inbox folders.
  3. If the email still has not arrived, return to the sign-in form and request another. A new code can be sent after a short wait. Asking sooner takes you back to entering the code already on its way, and the form says how many seconds are left before Send a new code works. On the website, after several requests for the same address in an hour, wait a while before asking again.
  4. If you left the code screen, Enter the code sent to … takes you back to it: on the app's sign-in and sign-up forms, and on the website after Use a different email on the sign-in page or Start over when signing up.

On an iPhone, the code from Mail can appear above the keyboard. If tapping it leaves the box empty, type the code from the email or tap the link in it. If the email has disappeared, look in Mail's Trash: iPhone can delete a code email once the code has been offered.

The sign-in email includes a link and a six-digit code. You can enter the code on the device where you started signing in.

On the website you can skip the email altogether: choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple (see Can I sign in with Google or Apple?), or Sign in by text for a US mobile number your host or your account has (see Can I sign in by text instead of email?).

If an older link no longer works, request a fresh email from the invitation or sign-in page. Never forward your sign-in email or share the code. If you are still stuck, contact us.
