Can I sign in by text instead of email?
Sometimes. On an invitation where your host gave us your mobile number, or with a number you added to your account, choose Sign in by text and enter the code we text you.
On the website only.
If your sign-in email is slow to arrive or lands in junk, you can get a code by text instead. Choose Sign in by text under the email field, type your mobile number, and choose Text me a code. Enter the code within ten minutes.
Codes go to US mobile numbers only, and come from a different number than event texts from Cut the Cake: they are sent for us by Twilio Verify. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to a code to stop codes, START to have them again, or HELP for help.
On an invitation
If your host gave us your mobile number for this invitation, the code opens it: you can see the details and answer. The code opens that one invitation and nothing else.
After you answer, you can add your email to get your answer in your inbox. Use the address your invitation was sent to, and your answer joins your Cut the Cake account when you open the email we send.
For your whole account
Add a number under Mobile number on your Account page, and confirm it with the code we text you. After that, the code we text to that number signs you in to your account. A number holds one account: confirming it on another account moves it there, and the first account is emailed. Removing the number from your Account page stops these codes.
If no text arrives
Check the number you typed. A number that replied STOP to a code gets no more until it texts START. If you asked for several codes in a row, the screen says so; wait a while and try again. Otherwise, sign in with your email instead. If your number isn't on an account or an invitation, the code still comes, and entering it tells you so. See My sign-in code has not arrived.
