Is sharing guest contact information the same as mailing-list consent?
No. Event contact sharing and a guest’s choice to join a venue mailing list are separate permissions.
A host's contact-sharing setting controls whether venue coordinators can read guest contact details for that event where those details would otherwise be masked.
It does not enrol anyone in the venue's mailing list or give permission to send unrelated marketing.
Mailing-list consent is a separate choice made by the guest after the event. Keep the two permissions separate when exporting lists or deciding whom to contact.
On events hosted by the venue's own members, coordinators already have broader access to guest details. That access still does not substitute for a guest's marketing consent.
