How do I change what the RSVP form asks?
Each question belongs to a feature's sheet: the RSVP's in its sheet on Manage → Features, and the Menu's and the Guest map's beside the form in Design → Details once they are on.
Open Design → Details. Under The RSVP, Ask guests to RSVP is a switch, on for a new event; off, guests are not asked to answer and the invitation tells them to just come.
The questions themselves belong to the features that add them, and each feature's are in its sheet:
- RSVP: Guests can answer Maybe, Ask for a phone number and Ask for an (optional) note to you, all on for a new event, and People per invitation, 6 for a new event. Open its sheet with Edit on the RSVP card in Manage → Features, or search for the question in Search setup and features (on the website it is in the Design room too).
- Menu: a dish for each guest, and Ask about allergies, which adds an Allergies line to the form. A dish's own dietary tags tell guests which dishes are vegan or gluten free.
- Guest map: where guests are traveling from. The question and the Guest map are one switch, so turning either off takes both away; answers already given are kept.
- Potluck: on the form only when its sheet's Ask on the RSVP form too is on. Otherwise guests sign up on their own page after they answer.
The Menu and the Guest map appear under The RSVP in Design only once they are on, turned on from Manage → Features or an Overview suggestion, and Potluck only while Ask on the RSVP form too is on. There, each has a card with its switch; press the card's name to open its sheet (in the app, Edit).
Guests choose their answer first, and the form shows only the questions that answer needs: a guest who can't come is asked only for their name and a note. Allergies, the note to you and texts are lines a guest opens only if they need them. A question you turn off is not asked; answers guests already gave to it are kept. A guest who gives a US ZIP code sees the city it names, and one who picks a US city from the suggestions lands on the Map too.
The form's words are ours unless you turn on Custom wording; then Change the wording → The RSVP appears at the foot of Details. Changing a label changes the words guests read, not what the answer means. See How do I write the guest pages in my own words?.
Walk through the preview to check each question and the confirmation. Previewing an answer does not submit a real RSVP. A Maybe answer does not count as a confirmed guest in your headcount.
