How do I turn the song requests into an Apple Music playlist?
Export the list as a CSV from Songs, then import that file into Apple Music with a playlist transfer service, or add the songs yourself from their Apple Music links.
Cut the Cake does not add songs to Apple Music for you. It gives you the list in a form Apple Music tools can read. You need an Apple Music subscription to save a playlist of songs from its catalog.
Get the list
- Open your event, then Manage → Songs.
- Choose Export CSV. The file lists every request with the most votes first, and each row carries the song's Apple Music link when we found one.
If your event hides explicit songs, the export leaves them out too.
This is easiest on a computer. In the app, Export CSV opens the share sheet: on iPhone, save the file to Files; on Android it shares the list as text, so email it to yourself and finish on a computer.
Import it with a transfer service
Playlist transfer services read a CSV and build the playlist in your Apple Music library. TuneMyMusic is one:
- Choose to upload a file as the source and pick the CSV you exported.
- Choose Apple Music as the destination and sign in with your Apple Account.
- Review the songs it found, then start the transfer.
The playlist appears in Apple Music on every device signed in to the same account. A service like this is not part of Cut the Cake: it has its own terms and its own limits on free transfers, so check those before you start.
If a service asks for pasted text instead of a file, use Copy list on the Songs tab. It copies one line per song, the title and then the artist.
Add them yourself
For a short list, open the CSV in a spreadsheet and select each link in the Apple Music column. Each one opens the song in Apple Music, where you can add it to a playlist. A song added by name without a search result has no link, so search for it in Apple Music instead.
Songs added after you export are not in the file. Export again before the party for the final list.
