Does Cut the Cake have achievements?

Yes. Achievements are goals you earn by hosting, from starting your first event to revealing an award winner. They are off until you turn them on in your account's settings, and only you see them.

Yes. There are 27 achievements, each a goal you reach by hosting: starting your first event, hearing your first yes, seating ten guests, revealing an award winner, and more. Earn every one of them and you also earn A Cut Above the Rest.

They are off until you turn them on, and they are yours alone: guests and co-hosts never see them.

What earns them

The achievements come in five groups: Getting started, The guest list, Features, The day and Afterward. Every one says what earns it, and none is kept secret. One that takes a number of something, such as 25 guests coming to one event, shows how far along you are.

Nothing is earned by paying, by sending your guests more mail, or by deleting something. Many are earned by what your guests do, such as an answer, a nametag, a photo or a song request, so one can arrive while you are away.

Turning them on or off

On the website, open Account, then Settings at the top of the page, then Achievements, and turn on Track achievements. In the app, open Account, then the settings mark, then Achievements; the switch is at the top of that page.

Turning them on counts what you have already done, so a host with parties behind them can earn several at once. Each is dated the day Cut the Cake first saw it, which can be later than the day you did it. Turning them off hides them and keeps everything you earned.

Where you see them

On the website, See your achievements appears under the switch once they are on. In the app they are on the same page as the switch. Either way you see your tally toward A Cut Above the Rest, then Earned, newest first, Underway, closest first, and Still ahead. Any you earned since you last looked are named when you open them.

Notifications

With the Cut the Cake app's notifications allowed, the app tells you when you earn one: one notification for each, or one for all of them when more than three arrive together. None arrive between 10 at night and 8 in the morning on the clock of your newest event; they wait for the morning. Pressing one opens your achievements. The first check after you turn achievements on sends none, so earlier parties don't set your phone buzzing. Turning achievements off stops these too. Which notifications the app sends, and how to turn them on, is in How do I get notifications on my phone?

When you earn A Cut Above the Rest, Cut the Cake sends you one email to say so.
