# How do I hand a venue event to its host?

A coordinator uses Transfer hosting under the event’s Hosts & privacy tab. The host can only give it back.

On a venue event, a coordinator opens **Manage → Hosts & privacy → Transfer hosting**, picks a teammate or enters the new host's name and email address, and reads the confirmation before completing the transfer.

The new host receives a sign-in email and does not need to join your venue team.

Handing an event to a host outside your organization changes what your coordinators can see. They retain logistics access, while guest contact details are masked and photographs, guestbook entries and messages stay with the host's circle.

After that, the host cannot pass the event to anyone else, and your coordinators cannot take it back. The host can give it back to your venue from the same tab, which returns it to the coordinator who created it, and your coordinators can then hand it on again.
