# Can ChatGPT or Claude start my event?

Yes. Ask your assistant for a Cut the Cake link, open it, and your event starts with what you told it filled in.

Yes. Tell an assistant about your event and ask it for a Cut the Cake link. For example: "Make me a Cut the Cake invitation for Sam's birthday dinner, June 12 at 6 pm at our place. The link format is at cutthecake.co/start."

Open the link it gives you. You see the invitation so far: the title, the date, the place and a short description. If the link has a date without a start time, choose the time first. Then select **Start this event**. If you are new, enter your name and email address first, then open the sign-in link or enter the code from that email.

The event opens as a draft in Design, where you choose the look, check the details and add guests. Nothing is published and no invitation is sent until you do it.

Check the date and time before you publish. An assistant can get a year or a time zone wrong, and a date that has already passed is left out.

## Add the connector

In Claude or ChatGPT you can add Cut the Cake as a connector. Then you only have to ask for an invitation guests can RSVP to, and the assistant makes the link for you. The connector's address is [https://cutthecake.co/api/mcp](https://cutthecake.co/api/mcp).

Making the link needs no sign-in. The link carries only what you told the assistant about the event, never your guests, and nothing exists until you open it and start the event yourself.

Once your event is started, the same connector can keep working on the draft with you. That part asks you to sign in and choose what it may do: see [Can ChatGPT or Claude change my invitation?](https://cutthecake.co/help/hosting/assistant-edits)

Any assistant can write a start link without the connector, with nothing to install. The format is on the [start page](https://cutthecake.co/start).
