# Can ChatGPT or Claude change my invitation?

Yes. Connect Cut the Cake in your assistant, choose which events it may edit, and ask for changes. You watch them land in Design.

Yes. Add Cut the Cake as a connector in Claude or ChatGPT, at [https://cutthecake.co/api/mcp](https://cutthecake.co/api/mcp), and ask for what you want: "rename it Harvest Supper, move it to Saturday at 7, make it forest green and cream."

The first time you ask it to change something, the assistant sends you to a Cut the Cake page to sign in and approve it. Nothing is shared until you do.

## What you choose when you approve

- **Which events it may edit.** Only the ones you tick.
- **And any event I start from a link it makes.** Ticked to begin with, so "make me an invitation" can run on into "now change it" without coming back to approve again.
- **Keep editing after it's published.** Ticked to begin with. The assistant keeps the events you shared once you publish them, and a change it makes to a published event shows to guests right away. Untick it and the assistant stops when you publish.
- **Add guests to my list.** Ticked to begin with. Give the assistant names and email addresses, typed, pasted or as a picture of a list, and it adds them. The addresses pass through the assistant. Adding a guest sends them nothing.
- **Show me my guest list in the chat.** Offered in Claude and ChatGPT, whose cards keep what they show from the assistant. Not ticked to begin with. Ask to see who's coming and the list is drawn for you in the chat, with names, answers and notes. The assistant itself is told only how many.
- **See how many are coming.** Not ticked to begin with. Totals only: how many are invited, how many have answered, how many are coming. Never names, addresses or notes.
- **Let it read names and answers.** Not ticked to begin with. The assistant itself reads who is invited, who has answered and what, how many are in each party and their meals, so you can ask "who hasn't answered?". Never an address, a phone number or a note. Once it has read them, the assistant is asked to tell you each change before saving it and to wait for your yes, because a name is something a guest wrote. Cut the Cake asks this of the assistant and cannot check that it did, so if it ever saves something you did not agree to, remove it under **Assistants**.

## What it can change

On an event you shared: the title, date, time and place; the description and any of the wording; the colors and type; the cover photo, from the photo library, and how it sits on the page; your own sections and the menu; which features are on and their settings; the wifi card; and who can come. A wifi password you give it is saved and never shown back to the assistant.

On a published event the assistant will not take away the name, the date or the place: guests are reading them. Ask it to change them instead. Before it moves a published event's date, time or place, the assistant is asked to tell you what would change and wait for your yes.

Keep the event open in Design while you talk to the assistant. Each change appears there within a few seconds, without reloading. If you are typing in Design at the same moment, your typing wins and the assistant tries again.

## What stays yours

Publishing and sending invitations are always your own press. Ask the assistant whether the draft is ready: in Claude and ChatGPT the answer can carry a **Publish** button, which publishes after you press it twice, and it always gives you the link to the **Publish** button on Cut the Cake. Either one says what publishing does before you press it. Publishing makes the guest page live and sends nothing.

It can also write a message to your guests, for example a reminder to everyone who has not answered. The message waits as a draft in **Messaging**, where you see who it goes to and send it yourself.

An assistant cannot publish without your press, send a message or an invitation, read your guests' addresses, phone numbers or notes, read who is on your guest list unless you ticked **Let it read names and answers** (a list it shows you is drawn for you, not given to it), delete an event, or touch your account or plan. It can change a published event only where you ticked **Keep editing after it's published**.

## Remove an assistant

Open **Account**, find **Assistants**, and select **Remove** beside it. It loses access at once. A connection also ends by itself after 30 days, and you approve again if you still want it.
